CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF LARKIN

COUNTY OF MIDLAND, MICHIGAN 48642

PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING

DATE: 08 October 2008.

TIME: 7:30p.

PLACE: Larkin Township Office Building.

1. Call to Order: Chairperson Steger called the meeting to order at 7:30p.

2. Roll Call: Commissioners present: Jerry Steger, Duane Bremer, Karen Hitchcock, and Cathy Skalnican.

3. Minutes: The minutes of the 10 September 2008 meeting were reviewed. Duane Bremer made a motion to approve the Larkin Charter Township Planning Commission minutes of the meeting of 10 September 2008. Karen Hitchcock seconded the motion. The minutes were approved: VOICE VOTE: All ayes, (4-0). Minutes approved.

4. Public Comment and/or Communications Concerning Items Not on the Agenda: Persons present for a scheduled public hearing, which had been canceled.

5. Reports:

A. Township Board: The Planning meeting was held before the Township Board meeting in October. Karen Hitchcock reported the Budget Workshop results regarding the Planning Commission request for a computer was approved.

B. Zoning Board of Appeals: Nothing to report

C. Secretary: No report.

6. Unfinished Business: Chairperson Steger reported he and Stan VanSumeren met with Dan Carbage, a Wade Trim representative, 03 October 2008, discussing the updating of the township's zoning map.

7. New Business: Ralph Trepkowshi, of Commercial Equity, discussed with Jerry Steger a potential expansion of Forest View Golf Center on Hurley Road.

Miscellaneous Business and Announcements: Midland County Fall Workshop will be held 06 November 2008 at the Midland County Fire Educational Facility on Homer Road. The subject of the meeting will be the progress of the countywide Geographic Information Systems and a discussion of the mapping of the county floodplain project.

ADJOURNMENT: Duane Bremer made a motion, seconded by Karen Hitchcock, to adjourn the meeting. VOICE VOTE: All ayes (4-0); meeting adjourned at 8:12p.
